International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults Poster unveiled its 30th edition poster yesterday in Isfahan, as the president of the festival, cultural government officials, famous Iranian cinema celebrities and a group of martyrs’ families attended at the ceremony.

According to the information center of the 30th International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults, Alireza Rezadad, the president of the festival; Dr. Mehdi Jamalinejad, Isfahan’s Mayor; Ali Qasemzadeh, the vice-president for the art and culture department of Isfahan city hall; Habib Ilbeigi, the head of the controlling department of the cinema organization, as well as a group of celebrities including Marzieh Boroumand, Hengameh Ghaziani, Kourosh Tahami, Fereshteh Ta’erpour, Ferial Behzad, Setareh Skandari, Marzieh Mahboub and Hooman BarghNavard were present at the unveiling ceremony which was held at the main library of Isfahan’s city hall.

“This year there is an independent competitive section for animated movies for the first time. We also separated movies for kids from movies for young adults,” Alireza Rezadad, the president of the festival, says in the ceremony. He adds, “As there was a one-year gap in holding the festival, everyone’s looking forward to this edition.”

Talking about the selected movies, he says “the selection committees are about to finish their jobs. Foreign movies are now selected and more than half of the foreign guests have been invited. There is a club where people who are interested in getting informed about the festival, can submit an application.”

Pointing to the host of the ceremony who used to be among the jury members, Marzieh Boroumand, an Iranian director and scriptwriter, says “30 years ago, I was a jury member in the festival and today I’m so honored to see that members of the young jury are now in higher level. Elder people usually remind me of the good memories they have with my earlier works. It is not a surprise as I’m getting 66 in couple of days! I’m glad that the festival has now started officially.”

“No matter who’s organizing the festival, we should concentrate on improving our cultural status. Organizers of a festival are like the participants in a sprint relay. The old team is replaced with the new one and then we all must help each other just like those runners. I hope there will be a great festival.”

Ali Qasemzadeh, the vice-president for the art and culture department of Isfahan city hall says, “from now on, I hope this festival will hold every year in Isfahan. To fulfill this wish, a 5-year-old agreement is reached. We also should separate art and culture from politics. We all intend to hold a different, creative and wholly new festival.”

At the end of the ceremony, the 30th edition poster which is designed by Marzieh Sarmashghi unveiled. The festival will be held from June 30 to July 6 in Isfahan.
